New Zealand, Day 14 (Aug. 15) Bay of Islands

Today was our cruise through the Bay of Islands.  Next to Milford Sound I think this is what Treg was looking forward to the most.

The Bay of Islands has over 100 islands in it.

Just a little shack on one of the islands.

I love the little peek hole at the top of this rock
I love this picture

Doesn't look real huh?  So amazingly beautiful.

Remember the picture of the "wrinkled" hill?  Well this is why it looks that way.  The sheep walk on the hillsides and makes these little mounds and from a distance it makes it look wrinkled.
Hole in the rock. It may not look that big but we drove our great big ocean liner through it with tons of room to spare.

We were supposed to swim with the dolphins on this cruise (yes we were going to brave it even though the water was like 20 degrees) but we did not see one single dolphin!  They have a guarantee that if you don't see any dolphins you get to go again for free.  The girls and I scheduled to go out again tomorrow morning and try out luck again.  We realllllly want to swim with dolphins in the wild.

Chickens run wild in New Zealand.

Sierra trying to make friends with the chicken...the chicken was not interested.

Coral on the beach.

The sunset view from our hotel in Paihia

Sunrise view from our room

Sierra rescuing starfish on our beach.  She looks highly concerned.
We found many starfish that needed rescuing.

We went to a super yummy barbecue place for dinner. Guess we'll be up bright and early again tomorrow to try the dolphin cruise again.
