I am trying to trudge forward with my New Zealand posts but the photos are giving me grief and my brain needs a break!!
I figured I would share a couple of humorous stories instead :-)
Our family dog passed away last Dec....it was quite sad...the girls have been on a mission to get another dog...Treg has dug in his heels and is not giving on this one...he's an emphatic NO!
So, I'm cleaning out the kitchen cupboard last week and I came across the dogs heart worm and flea medicines:
Me: "Hey honey, should I hang on to this medicine...you know just in case we get another dog, it's expensive"
Treg: "No, you can get rid of it...there will not be any more dogs"
Me: "You sure?? It's pretty expensive so you know just in case"
Treg: "You used to complain about how much work the dog was"
Me: "Well, I complain that the kids are too much work sometimes too but you don't get rid of them" (that was a good one right...I'm thinking I've got this one!)
Treg: "yes, but we're not getting any more are we..."
Dang, I had to hand it to him, that was an awesome comeback haha.
We are putting a pond in our backyard. We needed a bunch of sand so we headed off to Home Depot. When Treg had his accident he messed up pretty much everything on his right side. He used his left arm for everything and as a result has totally messed up his left side. He's now in physical therapy for his left arm. He can't really lift anything at the moment.
So he is standing in Home Depot pointing to the bags of sand telling me which ones to pull down. I'm hefting 50 lb. bags of sand...700 lbs. worth. We didn't really think anything of it because this is normal life for us right now, we know why he can't do stuff. One of the employees comes over to us as I'm putting the last bag on the cart. He had this sort of concerned look on his face. "Ma'am, can I help you with something?" he says. "Oh ya! If you could help me load these in my car that would be awesome! My husband hurt his arm in an accident and can't help me." The guy starts laughing and says "oh, that explains a lot...I was wondering why he was just standing there watching you lift all those bags" HaHa...wonder how long he stood there thinking my husband was a jerk and I was a subservient ;-) and trying to decide if he should intervene or not LOL
